@dgall If you look back over the past few months I recall seeing several posts about that issue, but don't recall the advice given.

I recall seeing several posts about that issue
Really I don't recall any of those.. Hmmm I recall some threads about the change in 2.7 dev snapshots and issue with that with the move to new version of pfsense and php, etc.
You happen to have a link to one of these other threads/posts?

@johnpoz Well there is no lmgtfy.com for this forum :) but I found

Yeah, that can happen if the upgrade fails to complete. The running pfSense version is not the same check as an available version.
If you run
pkg info -x pfSense
you will find at least one pkg that is still from the older version. Probably the pfSense meta pkg.Have you upgraded to Plus from CE? Did you come from an earlier 2.7 snapshot? That can present like this.
You can probably force reinstall pkgs to get the correct versions in place. Or you might be able to do it just using
pkg upgrade

Hello together,
What version is shown here.... (picture below)
... should be matching to the chosen "branch";
- In the dashboard shown version
- and the current chosen Branch should be matching together (Shown in the picture below)
Show the installed packets in thew dashboard and scroll down until you reach the point "System patches", be sure
there is a small hook shown and not a small plus (+) sign
(Last position on the picture shown below)
If there is a plus sign (+) you could click on the name of the shown patch and you will be directed to the to the
pfSense section "Recommended System Patches"
(As shown in the picture below, as an example)
If you have applied this patch (or not, like you need it)
you will be able to go back to the dashboard and click
on the two bowed arrows to have a look again over the
available updates. Now all should be fine there.
