      Hello,

I'm trying to install pfSense-2.6.0 on an APU2.
As recommended I downloaded pfSense-2.6.0 (Serial) and flashed it via Rufus on a USB-Stick.
During boot of the USB-Stick, I get stuck at "lo0: link state change to UP"

Waiting for about an hour now and nothing is happening, whereas the installer in my VirtualBox VM just keeps loading and finally showing the installation menu.

      What am I missing?
      Can somebody help?

      Regards

Are you sure that's the image you used?

What you see there is everything that appears on both consoles. After that point, and until the console menu is shown, only the primary console is used.
Though is shows the primary console is serial it looks very much like it's not.

You can also try forcing the console:

          Hey @stephenw10,

          Thanks for your advice.
Just tried to interrupt the Boot loader as described in your linked Post, unfortunatelly, it dont Boot into loader prompt…

The Console just don‘t react to my Keyboard input. Tried to change something in Boot menu; same missbehaviour…

I’m Using a regular Lenovo keyboard.

          Any advice on this?

It shouldn't matter what keyboard you're using if you're connected to the serial console.

Is it connected directly to the APU? You should be interrupting via serial.

              @stephenw10

yes, the Keyboard (Cherry KC 1000 or Lenovo Preferred Pro II) is directly connected via USB.

As soon as I enter BIOS Menu or Bootloader Menu, no Keys Inputs are accepted, not even CTRL+ALT+DEL.

              I'm a little lost.

What can i do? Maybe change the onboard battery?

              Regards

Finally, I could figure it out.

The problem was the console cable, I guess a cable break.
I just tried another one and the installer is booting fine.

                Thanks for your help
