      Hello,

I posted this in one of Reddit Metronet forums too. I am currently using a Nokia G-010G-A ONT with my Metronet service and a Netgate 6100. Was wondering if any of you have been able to connect fiber (with APC ends) directly to your pfSense router. If yes, what SFP module (that can be used with APC fiber ends) have you used?

As an alternative option, is any of you currently using a media converter with your Nokia ONT to connect to your pfSense router via SFP/SFP+ module/cable? What converter has worked well for you that you would recommend?

      Thank you!

@marinsnb you can convert APC to SC easily without needing special hardware on your pf. However you will still need an SFP that can process the ONT connection.

Example of one such connector on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/25M-Singlemode-Simplex-Fiber-Optic/dp/B07WPX5D5W

@rcoleman-netgate thank you. That is the type of connector that goes into my ONT. The challenge now is either finding an adapter that converts to a different connecter (LC?) which will then end up in a certain transceiver module or finding a module that works with SC/APC ports which I have not come across. I guess will continue to look. Appreciate your suggestion!

@marinsnb You can find a connector to a connector easily. SC-LC is common. SC-ST and LC-ST are less common.
