Obviously not sure where to put this. I've had this problem with stable version before. I don't seem to accessing the server that contains the downloadable update. System summary shows there's an update. When I click on it, suddenly can't access the file.

Is something going on with the updates server, as in a general problem, or is did the update get pulled, as in a specific problem with 2.7 and I should post in that forum?

@jimbob-0 I believe I saw a post the other day that it wasn't available yet as they transition to the new OS.

FYI if you change to Devel and change back the update check still fails: https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/13593

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Reading the Netgate troubleshooting guide for update it say run 'pkg-static update -f ' the output will tell.

I have the same issue and I'm on the '2.7.0-DEVELOPMENT (amd64) built on Fri Aug 12 00:02:48 UTC 2022 FreeBSD 12.3-STABLE'

          Running 'pkg-static update -f ' :

          Updating pfSense-core repository catalogue...
          Fetching meta.conf: . done
          Fetching packagesite.pkg: . done
          Processing entries:
          pkg-static: wrong architecture: FreeBSD:14:amd64 instead of FreeBSD:12:amd64
pkg-static: repository pfSense-core contains packages with wrong ABI: FreeBSD:14:amd64
          Processing entries... done
          Unable to update repository pfSense-core
          Updating pfSense repository catalogue...

          Fetching packagesite.pkg: .......... done
          Processing entries:

          Unable to update repository pfSense
          Error updating repositories!

So it seems like the transition to FreeBSD14 is the problem. I will hold for a while. There is always a lot of bugs when they change OS version. Maybe it works doing a fresh install with the latest development version and apply the backup file - I will not try :)

Not complaining, don't want anything released for "testing" before its time. I'm good with Netgate taking as long as it needs.

Just a question from an observation. Is something major being addressed?

@jimbob-indiana I updated our lab VMs for dev a while ago and the 2.7/23.01 snapshots on FreeBSD14 are addressing various things ATM. Be it EOL of PHP with many changes happening for PHP8 compatibility, to new drivers and stuff from FBSD14 being adapted to looking into the newly re-imported wireguard kernel stuff that lately dropped in FBSD14 again, there are many things to cover. Also stuff that has been out in Plus-22.05 like the portal and limiter running without IPFW now or quite a few QoL fixes in the UI there are many things to look after.

                      Cheers
