I have a netgate 7100u (I believe is the code) Software is on the current stable version. Everything in the system was all purchased around the same time (meaning I have not changed anything recently). and has been working with no real issues during this time.
      Netgate firewall
      Cisco switch
      Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S+IN
Supermicro server (media and cloud storage)
      asus wifi access point

Now out of the blue I will loose all internet and intranet. Its just off without shutting anything off.
Looking at my mini server rack nothing seems to change. Like nothing randomly restarted or anything. I cannot even access pfsense without tapping directly into the box.
This goes on for about 20min - 1 hours and all of a sudden everything is back. I'll get the home network stuff first then internet will come back shortly after.
Also, It only happens like once a week and one time we lost power and that took forever for it to come back online.

Starting the system does not seem to help.

How do I start to diag this? I have looked at the system logs but I don't really know what I am looking for.

Losing all connectivity like that sounds like a layer2 issue (or layer 1 even).
Is there anything losing link when that happens?
Anything in the pfSense system logs when you regain access?
        Which ports are you using?

        Steve

@stephenw10 Steve, Thanks for the quick reply. In the system logs what would you be looking at or for? There are alot of logs with alot of data. This happened tonight between 7-8pm and the system general log doesn't go back that far already.

I'd be looking for anything showing an interface or switch port link going up or down.
Anything that shows a route changing or gateway status change.
Or any sort of error message.
