PFSENSE 2 WAN Problems
-
Hy!
I have 2 fibers with the same operator (MOVISTAR) with static public IPs.
As I have many devices in my network, so that the router that Movistar brings does not collapse, I put it in "single-user" mode and I manage it directly with my PFSENSE.When configuring my first fiber in PPPOE, there is no problem, everything is correct.
When configuring my second fiber in PPPOE, that's when I see the problem….
MOVISTAR has a DHCP server with the IP 192.168.144.1, which is in charge of giving me the public static IPs.
Whereupon pfsense tells me that WAN1 has the Gateway 192.168.144.1 and WAN2 has the same Gateway 192.168.144.1 and doesn't accept it.
Is there a way to fix this?
I want to balance the 2 WANS and it won't let me, because WAN2 doesn't work….
I understand that PFSENSE finds it ridiculous to balance 2 Gateways with the same ip, but for practical purposes, they are 2 different fibers….

Load balancing to multiple gateways is based on routing. But with equal IP addresses there is no routing possible naturally.
Therefore pfSense doesn't accept overlapping networks at the outset.I'd request to ISP to provide different subnets for both.
If that's not possible you can do a workaround like the guy in this thread: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/175840/using-multiwan-from-the-same-isp/6 -
@viragomann Thank you very much for the reply. It has helped me to learn a little more about myself and the community.
