After updating to the latest 2.7 snapshot I got this while booting/restarting:

Where there any changes to the boot layout or problems with ZFS again?

      Cheers

        System is a Proxmox VM.
Old snapshot was from 2022-10-05, current one with the problem is 2022-11-17-0600.

I rolled back and tried again. 41 packages to update. Nothing strange. PKG updated to 1.18.4_1 also good. Then "reboot after 10".

Then booting up and entering mountroot> with the same output as above again. Settings are switched to SeaBIOS etc. as there was problems with EFI etc. and ZFS and BIOS still worked. So wondering why that update broke the VM again?

Trying to manually mount the pool says unknown file system. Also the list of devices doesn't show the ZFS pool? Normal?

I had one do that and for whatever reason it wasn't loading the ZFS modules.

Reboot, go to a loader prompt, and try to load opensolaris and load zfs, if that doesn't work, use the full path like /boot/kernel/zfs.ko.

Then boot and see if it continues.

@jimp I had a feeling it could be related to ZFS. I found the VM had an older snapshot from mid-October so just following a hunch rolled back to that und updated again - funny thing, THAT update actually worked and the system rebooted just fine. Weird, will have to test around a bit if that can be reproduced somewhere further. Wouldn't want that when 23.01 drops to happen to a 22.05 update :)
