      Hello all,

      Is it possible to use static/valid-routable IP addresses on both the LAN and WAN interfaces?

      Example;

      1. I will have a /30 subnet (4IP's) for the WAN Interface
      2. A /24 for the LAN interface
      3. All IP's are valid and routable.

      Essentially I will have our network engineer route the /24 on down to the /30. On the PFsense I will route the /24 back up and out the WAN interface /30. That will give me two way traffic.

      So, I guess NAT will not be needed as I will be using valid IP's addresses. Is this possible?

      Thank you,
      Matt

        You can turn NAT off in the SYSTEM / Advanced in the Traffic Shaper and Firewall Advanced Area

          And then you can just apply the valid IP's and you are good to go right?  Perfect… Thank you for the response.

            I wouldnt do that.
            With this you disable NAT but you also disable the firewall function.
            A better way to do this is to enable "Advanced outbound NAT" (firewall –> nat --> outbound) and delete all rules --> NAT will no longer be applied.

            We do what we must, because we can.
