Hi all, I have a HP t620 thin client that I’m using as a router on a stick with its one ethernet port. I realised it had an empty m.2 wifi card slot.

I purchased a m.2 a+e to ethernet nic with RTL8111F to add another ethernet port, but pfsense doesn’t seem to recognise the device at all.

Any suggestions? I can’t tell if its a software or hardware issue.

At the command line run pciconf -lv make sure it shows up on the PCIe bus at least and note the IDs it's using.

It's possible that m.2 slot is for USB devices only in which case it won't appear.

I think you are 100% correct, I do not see the card. Thanks a lot for confirming! It must be a USB device only I imagine... Oh well!
