Sorry I tried

I have been an OPNsense user for about 4 years coming from PFsense. Had to setup a new firewall, so I thought I would give PF another go, so I registered for PFsense Plus and installed that. Lots of little thing in the configuration I liked better than OPNsense. Got it all working and iperf speeds were quite good. Better than with OPN. But once I started adding rules and NAT, it all came crashing down. Never got NAT to work correctly. Got to the point where I could not even delete any rules that I added via the logs. Then nothing started working right. Reloaded the config and that didn't help. There is no ISO for PF Plus, so reinstalling is a major headache. I went back to OPN and everything works fine. Guess I will stay there. Got a good taste of why I left PF. Very disappointed.

@dalicollins
Well, then good luck and good journey...
Out of interest...which Hardware did your pfsense plus run on? -

There is nothing to do with nat out of the box - its done automatically, do you mean port forwards, ie unsolicited inbound traffic from the internet?
Troll post? You come here create an account, just to say some other product is better?? Really?

What a weird post. Lack of detail on anything. Considering default install of BOTH Opnsense and Pfsense would work as it’s designed to enable communication from LAN to WAN without trouble. This very hilarious post is clearly meant to inflame but to me it’s funny. Putting this squarely in the “I’m going to troll for lolz” category.

@michmoor yeah not sure who this is meant to trigger? I don't get it - oh some rando on the internet doesn't like xyz - who cares?
