pfsense firewall and other firewalls
-
Hey guys. Total newb here trying to figure out if I will be able to figure out pfsense as a firewall router device for home use. Im feeling like giving it a shot bit...a little scared lol.
First question. On my windows pcs on my network, I am running Kaspersky premium which of course has a software firewall.
Do I need to turn that off if I have pfsense on the router and firewall running there? I suspect there would be conflicts between the two? If I did turn it off, on say, my laptop, I would need to have to remember to turn it on when I left the home network yes?
Thanks!!

You don't need to trun off any software firewall, there's no way they will conflict. But you may have to configure both depending on what it's doing now.Don't be afraid of pfSense, it literally will just work once installed so you can plug it in, and then learn it over time but you'll still have your internet working.
