      Hey guys,

Total newb here and looking to get a firewall router appliance that I can install pfsense on and learn over time.

My home network is pretty small but I want to invest in something nice, stable, fast and scalable.

      I have a 2GBe Arris S33 cable modem and 1 PC with a 10GB capable Ethernet card.

I have a 16 port, 1GB hardware switch that connects all my other PCs and a few other things running 1Gb connections.

Is this a good option or is it overkill or too little for the job? (see screenshot)

Any concerns about buying something this from China via Ali Express?

Yes. All of the concerns. Also pfSense CE 2.6-RELEASE does not support the I226 chipset. That will come in 2.7-RELEASE (which is in development at this time).

@cg50000p Available on Amazon now. 2.7 is fairly solid. I have no problems using it with i-225’s and would assume i-226’s are fine.
