Upgrade failed, empty files in root directory
-
Hello,
I attempted to upgrade an SG1100 from a 21.x version to the latest stable 22.y version, and it failed. WebConfigurator won't run, but I have console.
Here is a sample of files in the root directory; the zero byte files look to me like a script went haywire:-rw------- 1 root wheel 0 Jan 15 00:01 line -rw------- 1 root wheel 0 Jan 15 00:01 load -rw------- 1 root wheel 512000 Jan 15 15:55 nginx.core -rw------- 1 root wheel 0 Jan 15 00:01 not -rw------- 1 root wheel 344064 Jan 15 16:54 ntpq.core -rw------- 1 root wheel 0 Jan 15 00:01 on -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 10859951 Jun 16 2020 packetcapture.cap -rw------- 1 root wheel 0 Jan 15 00:01 pfSense_version.uAeuN4Ec -rw------- 1 root wheel 11104256 Dec 13 23:24 pkg-static.core -rw------- 1 root wheel 0 Jan 15 00:01 to
I am unable to run update from console.
Here is what I am seeing:/usr/local/lib/php/20190902/opcache.so doesn't appear to be a valid Zend extension Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'filter.so' (tried: /usr/local/lib/php/20190902/filter.so (/usr/local/lib/php/2 0190902/filter.so: invalid file format), /usr/local/lib/php/20190902/filter.so.so (/usr/local/lib/php/20190902/filter.so.so: invalid file format)) in Unknown on line 0 Warning: PHP Startup: Invalid library (maybe not a PHP library) 'intl.so' in Unknown on line 0 Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'json.so' (tried: /usr/local/lib/php/20190902/json.so (/usr/local/lib/php/20190 902/json.so: invalid file format), /usr/local/lib/php/20190902/json.so.so (/usr/local/lib/php/20190902/json.so.so: invalid file form at)) in Unknown on line 0 Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'ldap.so' (tried: /usr/local/lib/php/20190902/ldap.so (/usr/local/lib/php/20190 902/ldap.so: invalid file format), /usr/local/lib/php/20190902/ldap.so.so (/usr/local/lib/php/20190902/ldap.so.so: invalid file form at)) in Unknown on line 0
Should I "Reset to factory defaults"?
If I do, will I lose my config.xml?
Should I first remove the .core and zero byte files in root?
Thank you!

Open a ticket at the URL in my footer with your 1100's serial number and request the 22.05 reinstallation image. Then restore your backed up config and you're good to go.

@rcoleman-netgate Thank you for the fast reply Ryan!
I had started to do that, but I don't have a "Support Level" to provide on the form - do I need to pay for support to use that?
Thanks,
Bill -
@billl TAC Lite comes on all Netgate devices.

@rcoleman-netgate Yay! :)
