Is this the latest RC version? System 23.01.b.20230106.0600
-
Thanks so much @jimp for the update.
I know a lot of users are excited including myself about the RC release. I was hoping to test it this weekend but it looks like its not quite their yet.
Just so I understand correctly their will be a separate branch for the RC build? And which build will you need to be on to have the RC build visible. Thanks again -
Ideally you'll be able to get to the RC from wherever you were before (22.05, earlier 23.01 dev snapshots, etc). The only place you wouldn't be able to get to the RC from is a 23.05 dev snapshot since that would be past the RC and you can't downgrade.

So for pfsense plus we can only go to the dev version 23.01.b.20230106.0600? But the installer images for 2.7 are getting daily updates. Unless there is an issue on my test box as it says the 0106 version is the latest.

Until we put out the RC build, you won't see any new Plus snapshots for 23.01. We may turn the 23.05 snapshots back on, but be careful you do not update to one of those.
We're only working on the Plus 23.01 RC/release process now, and 2.7.0 is still just "development", so its snapshots are continuing as usual. As we prepare and move the top of tree on the Plus side to 23.05 those will also resume daily snapshots.

Got it. Thanks so much for the clarification.

@jimp any chances we will see a RC version before the weekend?
-
I'm a little concerned myself at this point. I thought the RC was gonna drop any day now from a couple of weeks ago. Any news on an ETA or if they plan to push the release to February?
Thanks -
We have been mopping up some release blocking hardware issues but it's in decent shape now. We'll have news very soon!
