Do I need to pay attention to any special features in a modem or I can just get any modem I want.

I'm on a ADSL 2+ line, and more specifically, I want to use a DrayTek 120 with a pfSense SG-2200 or a SG-1000.

Will it work?

Yes. In DT120 you can pass-thru/bridge PPPoA to PPPoE, then use pfSense WAN-PPPoE for connecting.
