    Slow IPSec performance - troubleshooting guidance?

      We are testing pfSense (as VMs under Hyper-V) to work as on-prem gateways for Azure WAN.

      Everything works but the performance is very slow (kbps on a megabit Internet link). Also when bandwidth consumption goes up (i.e., one file copy via SMB) packet loss kicks in for everybody else.

      Internet Latency is around 120ms, bandwidth is again 600 Mbit+.

      Could anybody give pointers on troubleshooting IPSec performance, things to check?
