      Hello,
      I'm wondering if the boot environment will be lost if the pfSense configuration is reset/lost.

        @najm it’s part of the file system not the config. So if something is broken/inaccessible you can revert, etc.

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          Reimaging a system (beit from a USB image for a Netgate device or reinstalled OS) will overwrite all past data including BEs.

          Upgrades, factory resets, etc. will not.
