      If I were to upgrade from my current SG-1100 to an SG-4100, will I be able to restore the backed-up configuration from the SG-1100 into the new unit?

        @nguser6947 Yes and no. The 1100 has a switch and VLANs. If you open a (free) ticket at go.netgate.com they will convert the file for you to remove that. They offer all the time.

        Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          @steveits Steve, did you mean the SG-4100 has a switch and VLANs? Just confirming. I see in the product information that the 4100 has multiple VLAN ports.

            @nguser6947 the 4100 doesn’t have a switch.

              @steveits Gotcha. I never realized that the 1100 has a switch.
