Just bought the SG-1100. Did a very basic setup just to get the network going again, and to start experimenting with pfSense.

Everything works great so far, but I did notice that my Internet speeds have dropped by about half. I have a (verified) 1Gb/s internet connection (download, up is only 25Mb/s), but since installing the SG-1100 I only see around 500Mb/s.

Is this due to the SG-1100 hardware, or should I look elsewhere for the cause? Nothing else has changed in my network setup.

If this is due to the SG-1100, will upgrading to the 2100 or 4100 solve my issue?

      Thanks for your help.

@rvd The 1100 is one switch with VLANs. So yeah it’s limited. For a gig the 2100 IIRC will not be enough either as it’s the same CPU, albeit with more interfaces.

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.

@steveits Thanks for the quick reply. I guess there's a 4100 in my future then.

BTW - Is there a reason there's no longer a 3100? Will be there a replacement for it in the future?

Supply chain issues -- our supplier had trouble getting components in the device.

It's replacement is the Netgate 4100.
