So, today I changed NIC from one dual i350-t2 and one dual 82575-t2 to one i350 -t4 and booted my Lenovo that had been sitting for a year (long story). I was surprised that it never required me to re-register to regain my pfSense+ signature since there was definitely a hardware change.

Then, I was prompted to upgrade to 22.05, so I followed and all hell broke loose...fatal errors, PHP errors, things got misplaced, such as the webGUI custom certificate.

Is there a way to download a full install of 22.05, or 23.01, or do I need to install 2.6 and re-register?

Well, I managed to upgrade from console to 23.01 which still recognize my pfSense+; however, I am unable to access the WebGUI.

What version were you upgrading from?

Your NDI would have changed when you swapped out those NICs. If you have the registered NDI you the firewall will pull the current Plus Upgrade branch data which will allow you to upgrade from 2.6 to 23.01 directly.

@stephenw10 I was at v22.01, then I upgraded to v22.05 which caused PHP issues, the fatal errors, pfBlockerNG, etc. However, I was able to relaunch console menu then upgrade from console, which took me to v23.01 but unable to access the webgui but still have access to console. So, I select restore backup which gave me 1 - 30...I selected 27 which is an updated cron job for /usr/local/bin/freshclan --config-file=/usr/local/etc/freshclam.conf

I have not executed it yet but since the date is 3/2/22, I am tempted. That seems to be a virus update though...I have Squid virus package.
It seems either the webgui custom certificate may have gotten overwritten or is there a way to restore when I first booted the Lenovo? I tried 1 and 18 of backup, then selected no, based on the time. I wished I noted the time but believe it was after 1pm.

It seems that the system is intact...just. no webgui access...yet.

Mmm, I would guess the update branch was result to current stable when you restored a config and it's trying to load 23.01 pkgs with the new php version.

@rcoleman-netgate I was so excited I forgot, thank you for removing...really excited each day I learn something new about pfSense and its resilience.
