Very confused about CE snapshots and daily builds.
-
I am trying to find the latest CE build(s).
Links off the main site for dial builds take you here:
link textThis has a link to images here: link text
And only contains a single set of images from Feb 15 2023.
This snapshot will not boot on any hardware I have tried.
I get a solid cursor and freeze on the screen
Tried on 3 different pieces of hardware. -

That would the installer - which one are you grabbing, and how are you trying to install it?
So I just grabbed the
pfSense-CE-2.7.0-DEVELOPMENT-amd64-20230215-0600.iso.gz
unzipped to get my iso, and installed to a VM on my nas..
So you can see that is the version that is installed, that is the latest installer version released on feb 15, but there is an update available, the daily snapshot that is dated 4-20-23
So as they release new snapshots - not always every single day, these will show as available to update too.

Ok so If I understand you correctly there is only an installer from Feb2023
Daily builds are only available from the update interface one it is up and running.
There are no "installer daily builds".I have a different thread open on my actual problem.
I've not tried installing 2.7 in a VM yet.
However upgrading to 2.7dev from 2.6 is failing badly in a VM.
And is detailed in my other post.
This post is only about my confusions on daily builds and the installer.
I'm trying to to get the memstick 2.7 installer to boot on 3 different pieces of hardware
That boot and install 2.6 just fine.
All I get is a solid cursor in the upper left on boot for 2.7
Tried a lot of things.
2.6 works fine on same.
Upgrade from 2.6 clean install to 2.7 via the update interface fail by creating a non-bootable system in Hyper-V or on hardware tested so far.Sorry too much stuff and is another thread.
BUt that's what I'm up against today :) -
@n8lbv correct that seems to be the latest installer, there is not a daily installer that comes out.. In the past I think they did release full snapshots you could download, etc.
But unless they run into something that needs changing or whatever there is the snapshot installer, and then you can update from that to the latest actual snapshot.
As you can see after clicking the little download cloud looking icon I have updated to the latest snapshot 4-20

Current snapshots have been restored; there was an error in the script copying them.
The Feb 15th snap is retained because it's the last snap with php81 which allows upgrading to 23.01 directly.
