On a Netgate APU running 2.3.2-RELEASE-p1 radiusd is not starting up or working when manually started.

I tried the issues outlined in https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=109724.msg611121#msg611121 by CMB but found no lock file stopping freeradius from running. There are some captive portal locks in that directory if that might have something to do with it.

After a reboot, the service status for radiusd remains stopped as illustrated by the red circle with an x inside well after startup and all other services are operational.

The General Log Entries filtered for "radius" only show a succesful reinstallation of the package (which was a poor attempt at fixing the problem). Nothing at all for "radiusd" there.

Starting radiusd from the web interface using the play button on the service status page appears to work as it twirls the gear and then lights up green. However, still nothing registers in either the General Log or in /var/log/radius.log with the word radius.

Meanwhile, running top from the console shows radiusd utilizing 100% of a WCPU. Fortunately, I can also "stop" radiusd from the web ui using system services page and relieve the cpu hit.

I was sure that it was working on a prior version of pfSense, but I'm not sure if it was the 2.3.2 upgrade that botched freeradius or a prior upgrade. Nevertheless, how should I go about further troubleshooting and fixing it? Where do I look to find out what is happening?

I have the same problem, nothing in logs.

6 and a half billion people know that they are stupid, agressive, lower life forms.
