@stephenw10 Nice, thanks for the info stephenw10.
So a M.2 NVME 2242 PCIe Gen3 x 2 with B or M+B key would fit ? -
Yes, I would expect that to work. But without having tested it I have no way to be 100% sure. I would try to get one of the drives reported as working in other threads here if you can.

@stephenw10 hmm, nice, found a topic in which an Intel Optane 16GB was tested in a SG-6100..
It's a lot cheaper than the previous one that I was about to get..I'll buy two, leave one as a backup here in my desk in case they disappear from the market in a few years :)

Was that me? I have tested that. It was the cheapest way to get a compatible drive I could find to test against. Existing drive wear was not really an issue for me.

Yes, it was, it is a nice topic with a lot of options: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/178375/netgate-6100-ssd-vs-assumptions/7
The wear in the 16GB drive will happen fast, but since I'm using an external Syslog and not writing logs to the disk, I suppose it will last for several years.. (I won't use Suricata/Snort/Squid, just pfblockerng). And I'll buy two just in case and leave it here, they are pretty cheap, kind of $10 bucks if I convert it to dollar.
I changed some e-mails with 3 resellers here in my location and everything is set, device will be arriving in 20 business days approximately..
I'll be ready for Internet connections higher than 1Gbps, NAS and APs with 2.5Gbps ports..Also already found someone to buy the SG-3100 from me.. Almost 6 years using the same device :)
So, with that $60 discount for SG-3100 owners, selling my old device, buying cheap SSDs, everything together allowed me to get a new shinny device eheh :) -
SG-4100 installed, UP and running.
It wasn't so easy to "import" my SG-3100 config to this device due to the integrated switch that SG-3100 has, but now I have everything working...
I'll be using RAM disk for a year due to possible issues with warranty.. Just to be on the safe side..

Can you confirm what temperatures I should expect for the SG-4100 ?
I'm getting idle temperatures around 51,52 Celsius.Ambient temperature now is 23C.
Summer ambient temperature can go up to 30C, would that be a problem?[23.05-RELEASE][root@pfsense.home.arpa]/root: sysctl -a | grep "dev.cpu.*.temperature" dev.cpu.1.temperature: 51.0C dev.cpu.0.temperature: 52.0C

No that's fine for the actual core temperature.
