I bought a SG-4100 and found that it was updated to 23.01 before it got to me because I found a boot environment from 22.05 there.

Updated to 23.05 yesterday and everything was fine.

I decided to install a SSD to the SG-4100 and had to reinstall my pfsense, and noticed that now there is a swap partition that didn't exist previously, and also a new IPsec-MB crypto option?

Users that upgrade from previous version won't have these options, just clean 23.05 installs?

dead on arrival, nowhere to be found.

Any 23.05 install has IPsec-MB, even upgrades.

Swap partitions are created by the installer, but not every factory/OEM install we do puts a swap partition on there. In most cases it's not necessary.
