pfsense 2.7.0-BETA: No internet
-
After updating to pfsense 2.7.0-BETA CE, my internet stopped working but when I used the ping tool in pfsense I could reach google.com. Also, I can download new packages from the package manager. Is anyone experiencing the same?

Is your wan gateway the "default" gateway?

is it because dns is not working.. From your client can you ping www.google.com by name that returns an IP?
$ ping www.google.com Pinging www.google.com [142.250.190.68] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 142.250.190.68: bytes=32 time=10ms TTL=58 Reply from 142.250.190.68: bytes=32 time=10ms TTL=58

@johnpoz No, please... I get "ping request could not find host google.com. Please check the name and try again."
-
@stephenkwabena well that would explain why you can't browse - dns isn't working..
Is your client pointing to pfsense for dns? Is unbound running? Do you allow dns in your firewall rules.. But yeah pretty hard to browse the internet without a working dns.
-
@johnpoz Yes I have done everything right. Things work fine when I switched back to pfsense 2.5.2
-
@stephenkwabena there are no changes from 2.5.2 for how dns functions at a basic level.
You need to figure out why unbound is not working if that is what your using? maybe your using the forwarder (dnsmasq) or are you forwarding in unbound?

@johnpoz No please

@stephenkwabena what does that mean??? Nobody can help you with out some info.. "No please" isn't info..
I would love nothing more than to help you figure out your problem... But without some info there is nothing anyone can do..
