I have created a Gen 2 Hyper-v guest, disabled secure boot, attached two NICs and disabled production checkpoints.

The PFSense loading screen is shown and then restarts on : -

      Loading configured modules...
      /boot/kernel/zfs.ko

      then restarts and shows: -

      Loading configured modules...
      can't find '/boot/entropy'
      /boot/kernel/opensolaris.ko size 0x9860 at 0x3cee000
      can't find '/etc/hostid'
      /boot/kernel/zfs.ko

This is on a HP prolient, I've also tried on a Dell and had the same result. Any ideas?

        Could be this: https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/13895

Though where it's hanging there looks like a wrong console issue. Like it might be se to use the serial console. What did you install from?

This is pre install boot, it's the first boot straight from the downloaded ISO.
I have tried other console options.

Then I would try a 2.7 ISO at least as a test.

I've had no problems with Gen 1 and 2.6, but of course my host is a dinosaur. What do you gain with Gen 2.? Maybe irrelevant in this case?

@stephenw10 Yep. He has secure boot disabled anyway and won't run into a disk space issue, sooo... The VM in my sig is on 23.01.
