So I initiated the upgrade from 2.6 to 2.7 using my laptop. However, I forgot to plug in my laptop so it slept. When I powered it on again, thr webgui still says 173/231 but the whole update seemed to have been successful because the router restarted and the update webgui says up to date already.

I was just worried because the webgui said "do not leave or refresh the page". So is the uodate dependent on the frontend webgui or was it initiated in the backend?

I assume back-end is dominant and WebUI just passively receives updates on the progress. If your laptop lost connectivity to pfSense, I'm sure after the reboot and logging back into pfSense you'd see everything was fine. I wouldn't worry unless there's errors or something.

@kevindd992002 it just means, don’t go making other changes. It runs on its own,

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
