Upgraded to 2.7 and all went well. Noticed that an error on pfBlockerNG so tried to reinstall but got a message that another instance of pfSense-upgrade is running. Rebooted and same error except now no internet at all. Disabling services did not help and can’t rebuild packages since can’t get out to retrieve them. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Your issue seems to be with pfB and not a general upgrade snag. No internet at all is not a normal symptom of either pfB or pfSense, I have pfB installed on nearly all pfSense boxes I look after.

I'm currently (23:37 BST ie GMT/UTC +1) updating a two node CARP cluster from the outside, ie I am at home and I'm updating my office nodes - which is pretty daft, although I do live within walking distance from the office, if anything should go really wrong. So far, my site to site VPN seems to have gone walkies. Not the best look.

... just left CARP maint mode. Not the best upgrade session but done out of hours. All OK,

So let's start with the basics. What is your WAN? ie pppoe, whatever? Do you have any connectivity at all or is it just DNS is broken?

@utendar Also do you have a default route in System/Routing or Ststus/Gateways?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.
