My ISP provides FTTP internet and the default setup is:
      ISP > ONT > Router

I’m trying to set it up so that my pfSense firewall plugs directly into the ONT. With the WAN interface set to DHCP it does not get an IP address. If I try to set a static IP assigned by my ISP I get no internet. Nothing shows in the DHCP logs.

However if I plug my Windows PC directly into the ONT it receives a public IP address straight away and the internet connection work. This is all on the latest version of pfSense Plus.

Could your ISP be MAC-locking? If so try rebooting the ONT after connecting it to your pfSense.
