      I'm trying to help a buddy get a pfSense box to work with this modem. He has Comcast as a provider and bought the modem himself to save costs. He says his ISP-supplied modem was able to do bridging, but it is unclear whether it works with a user-supplied modem. Has anyone else experienced such a problem and can recommend a fix?

        Unless there's been a firmware update since then to allow it perhaps.

          @stephenw10 I believe I came across that post while I was looking. Yep I think my buddy will need to see about a new modem. I would want a different provider myself. I have Spectrum and I got a modem with only an ethernet port and phone jacks so I can do what I want with my service.
