      Hi everyone,
has anyone written (or found) a script they'd like to share in order to update a DNS A-record (Dynamic DNS style) for a zone hosted on DigitalOcean?

      https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-a-host-name-with-digitalocean
      https://developers.digitalocean.com/documentation/v2/#domain-records

I could probably code a script myself, run it on my VM, then call it from pfSense using service type "custom", but hey, if someone has done it before, it's probably quicker. My searches haven't led to any results so far.

      I'm on version 2.3.3.

      Thanks :)
      -Manuel

        Hello, how are you !
I'm with the same problem as you.
I tried RFC2136 but with no result

        https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=63899.msg697022#msg697022
        https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/RFC2136_Dynamic_DNS

I found 2 scripts that use nsupdate but also could not make it work, at a certain moment I get the message of failure

        https://blog.philippklaus.de/2013/01/updating-dns-entries-with-nsupdate-or-alternative-implementations-your-own-ddns
        https://azmawee.com/dynamic-dns-auto-update-script-for-nsupdate-bind/

I'm starting to think it's not possible to run nsupdate in pfsense
And that RFC2136 does not work on it for some reason.
I'm still looking for something, I'm sharing on this topic.
If you find something please share it here.

And we are working to resolve this  :)
