Using 3100 config on 2100s
-
I have a great 3100 base config that I created some years ago to put on client devices.
Obviously, can’t get 3100s any more. Is there a way to upload that config (or portions of it) to a 2100.
A few years ago, it tried to copy and paste portions of the 3100 config to the same areas on a blank 2100 config and bricked the 2100.I really do not want to go back and spend 10-12 hours to recreate the config for a 2100.
Thanks all!

@AimHigh you could reach out to tac - I have heard of them making the changes needed to move configs from one appliance to the other.

@AimHigh Should work out of the box. The only thing that you'll have issue with is if you used the OPT interface on the 3100 for something. If you did not use it you can simply remove the <opt></opt> from the XML.

The 3100 uses mvneta2 as the WAN by default and that doesn't exist on the 2100, it uses mvneta0 as WAN. So some renaming would be required. Either editing the config directly or reassigning in the gui after uploading .

oops, missed that. Good catch @stephenw10

Thank you!
I will give this a try, changing the WAN setting in the config before uploading.
I’ve tried this in the past, as is, and the device never fully boots. -
@stephenw10 Worked great. Thank you.
