Port Forwarding
-
Hello, I am new to pfsense. I recently configure my WAN interface from DHCP to Static IPV4 and input my Public Static IP. I also input my modem IP as an Upstream gateway. When I save the configuration, I got this error.
"The gateway address 192.168.254.254 does not lie within one of the chosen interface's subnets."
Please help, thanks.

@MarkCabrera
So the "modem" is a router indeed, or what are you trying to set up?
What did the ISP give you? -
@viragomann
Yes. Now I already set up our public static ip in WAN, subnet and default gateway which is the upstream gateway. But the problem is that in LAN there's no internet connection. And I figured it out that i cannot ping the default gateway given by the ISP provider. -
@MarkCabrera not sure what this has to do with port forwarding and or nat?
So your isp gave you static public IP say 1.2.3.4 with a mask of /24 (255.255.255.0) and they want you to point the gateway to 192.168.254.254?
Normally the gateway is within the network your setting up, ie if you had a public IP of 1.2.3.4, the gateway might be 1.2.3.1 or 1.2.3.254 for example.
But you can set a gateway outside your assigned IP network.
