New Installation - Intermittent Slow Downs
-
Over the weekend I swapped out a Sonicwall with a Netgate 6100. I didn't tell anyone in the building and I'm the only person that knew about the hardware change. Late in the day yesterday, I started hearing reports that our two remote users were receiving "poor network" messages when using Splashtop to remote into their workstation in the office.
This never occurred prior to installing the Netgate. I've been running a persistent ping to Google for awhile now and it's floating between 9m and 85ms which seems like a pretty big swing.
Looking at WAN and LAN interfaces show no collisions, but tons of interrupts. Could that be the issue? What is different about the Sonicwall and the pfSense that would be causing this issue?

The interrupts are expected and shouldn't be a huge issue at that rate. You could just be seeing some saturation. Check Status > Monitoring for the traffic on WAN and LAN. Is it hitting the available bandwidth?
You may need some shaping prioritise remote desktop.Steve
