      Hi

      When I create a group with the 4 ethernet ports, everything is working fine, but when I add the 2 SFP ports to the same group, the DHCP stops working.

      Any idea what that might be?

      It only happens when I connect devices to the SFP ports. I tried changing the negotiation type; I tried creating a separate group. I tried connecting the sfp port to a switch or directly to a laptop, but nothing seems to be working. As soon as I connect the cable, the DHCP stops leasing IP addresses, and the network stops working.

      Thanks

        Which SFP ports? Do they show as linked correctly when you connect something to them?

        Do you still see the expected IP addresses on the interfaces?

        By 'group' do you mean a bridge with all ports sharing a subnet and one dhcp instance?

        Which pfSense version?

        Steve

          @stephenw10

          It is ports 3 and 4.

          They show as linked correctly, the negotiation is successful. (meaning they are able to link)

          I don't see any IP addresses on the interfaces, it goes to APIPA-type ip.

          I do mean a bridge with all ports sharing the same subnet and DHCP.

          IT is the latest version.

          Thanks

            OK just to be clear you mean the 10G SFP ports (ix0 and ix1)?

            What are they linked as?

            Does the DHCP service actually stop? Are there errors logged?
