Will try to make this long story short.

Some time after I bought my SG-1100, I saw a note in blue that said to use a specific software version for this device, so I selected that. Since then, I received no further software updates (at least a year). This became alarming. Then tonight, I finally had some time to address the issue and noticed that finally there was a new update (though a minor one). I thought maybe it was finally working itself out, so I installed it.

After a long time, it finally booted but ultimately resulted in a blank Web UI.

I was already skeptical and anticipating a factory reset, so I just did it, to start fresh (had to console in via USB cable & PuTTY to perform the reset). Factory reset seemed to go well, so I reconnected it to my network.

Everything looked happy and I was elated to see the Web UI offer a new certificate. However, that is where the happy ended. After accepting the new certificate, the web UI still does not come up (no log-in prompt or anything...just blank window).

It seems to be working fine for basic internet access.

      Basic network layout:
ISP Modem -> WAN port of 1100
LAN Port of 1100 (default 192.168.1.1) -> Internal router WAN port (given DHCP 192.168.1.100)
Internal router WAN -> built-in LAN switch (192.168.2.0/24)

I don't know what else to do past the factory reset I already did....By all accounts, it seems like it should now be working like the day I bought it. I do not recall having to do any additional steps when I initially received it.

The easiest way to guaranty you're running a clean system would be reinstall. It's quick and easy if you already have the USB console setup.
Just open a ticket with us to get the restore image: https://www.netgate.com/tac-support-request
