Can't setup sg-1100

Hello. Complete novice to pfsense. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong here.

Ive reading the documentation online on setting up the pfsense device. I can't seem to ping it, or connect to the GUI. The default should be 192.168.1.1

The netgate is connected from the modem > to WAN port. The LAN port on the netgate device has my computer connected.

Ive tried rebooting the modem, and ~~hard reset~~ reset the netgate device via serial USB to no avail. Any advice?

Is your computers network interface configured for DHCP? Check its network settings.

What exactly do you get, when you enter "http://192.168.1.1" into the browsers address line?

Can you ping 192.168.1.1?

Are you able to see it booting at the USB serial console?

Can you see it pull an IP on the WAN?

Can you ping out from the console?

After another reset I was able to finally set up the device. Indeed it did seem to have some configuration problem with DHCP. But its working now!
