NUT frequently disconnects netgate 2100

I have not "changed" my configuration. The UPS is connected directly to netgate 2100 using USB cable and most of the time it works. Frequently it disconnects and then reconnects again. I then reboot the router and it starts to work again,
Why is this happening?

@netboy usbhid-ups is crashing due to defects in USB handling. See the NUT support thread beginning around February this year. Several other threads over the last several months as well.

Thanks @dennypage - To decode your reply "There is nothing we can do till NUT comes with an update (followed by pfsense updates)"?

I gave up waiting for a NUT 8.1 release.

If you like detail, you can read Redmine issue #14795, and pull requests #1295, #1296, #1310.

The short version is that the new pfSense NUT package, which fixes the USB and SNMP issues, should start with 23.09. Soon.
