php8.2 gd for pfsense

I want to get php 8.2 gd onto pfsense, for basically the same reason as https://forum.netgate.com/topic/52231/php5-gd-for-pfsense-2-0-1-captive-portal-captcha . Per that topic, I'd have to get a VM of FreeBSD going, build php 8.2 with gd, then copy those files over to pfsense, is that right?

Yes, or import it from FreeBSD as they attempted. In either case it has to match exactly the php version.
