DHCP Issues
-
Hi,
I have two 8200's configured for High Availability but I'm coming across a strange issue.
It appears both devices are giving out DHCP leases, I was under the impression that only the master should do this.
Have I configured something wrong?Thanks

@Daniel_Hyde
Did you specify the "Failover peer IP"? -
Thanks for the reply, where would I find that?
I can only find: pfsync Synchronize Peer IPThanks

@Daniel_Hyde
In the DHCP server settings. -

@Daniel_Hyde
Services > DHCP Server > <interface_name>
?Do you even have any issues with DHCP leases?
That both hand out leases is a normal behavior, but they should exchange lease information, when this is set correctly (on the primary) and System > High Availability Sync > Select options to sync > DHCP Server settings is checked. -
Yes, the Ubiquiti cloud controller for the Wi-Fi keeps reporting multiple devices have the same IP.
Also some users cannot connect to the Wi-FiThanks

I found the setting, I changed DHCP from KEA to ISC and the setting was there.
Thanks

@Daniel_Hyde
Yeah, I think I've read here, that KEA is not compatible with CARP at this time. Would be worth to mention, that you use it. -
I didn't know it was in use, I only found it was a thing when I saw about it on here when looking at the DHCP section.
Thanks

@Daniel_Hyde
Yes, as the hint there is mentioning.
This setting needs only to be made on the primary.
