I have an SG-2100 max that failed the 23.01 update many months ago and I needed to manually update it.

Is there a thread, or a page showing the procedure to do this? I've never partitioned one, or done a clean install of pfsense so I'm a bit lost.
I have a vpn and several things configured which I'm assuming I can save my config and reload it once everything is up and running but I can't remember what packages if any I've added.

        Thanks

Yes, just open a ticket here and request the recovery image:

            Thank you for responding.
I contacted them yesterday and have the image as well as all of the info to do it.

I guess the only part I'm unsure of is how to tell if I ever installed any packages, but I'm sure I can figure it out.
I'm assuming when I save the configuration it won't save any installed packages with it?

It will save the package config but not the packages themselves. When you restore the config into the new version it will try to reinstall and packages and apply the config to them.
