Restore pfSense Plus 23.05.1 config on pfSense CE 2.7.0 Several Errors
-
Hello all, I'm having several issues while moving from pfSense plus 23.05.1 to pfSense CE 2.7.0. I took a backup config and then a snapshot of the VM. I then reinstalled on the same VM the pfSense CE 2.7.0 and did the basic WAN/LAN config on the console. As soon as I got WebGUI access I restored the config but I got messages like:
There were error(s) loading the rules: /tmp/rules.debug:195: macro 'pfB_PRI1_v4' not defined - The line in question reads [195]: block return log quick on { bridge0 } inet from any to $pfB_PRI1_v4 ridentifier 1770010142 label "USER_RULE: pfB_PRI1_v4 auto rule" label "id:1770010142"
Package reinstall process was ABORTED due to lack of internet connectivity
Service Watchdog detected service pfb_dnsbl stopped. Restarting pfb_dnsbl (pfBlockerNG DNSBL service)
Service Watchdog detected service pfb_filter stopped. Restarting pfb_filter (pfBlockerNG firewall filter service)
Service Watchdog detected service arpwatch stopped. Restarting arpwatch (Arpwatch Daemon)
After that it pfSense itself cannot connect to the package server or the update server and several services continue on reboot loops.
Can anyone help?Thanks in advance

lack of internet connectivity
Was there connectivity before the restore? Why is there none after? IP conflict? Were WAN and LAN assigned correctly during the restore? (if the interfaces haven't changed they will be used as is...maybe were out of order from the original VM? Except you said you used the same VM...)
The pfB alias will be defined after you run an Update in pfBlocker.
Are you really using a bridge on a VM?
I would perhaps try to uninstall the packages, sort out the connection problem, and then reinstall. The package configurations will stay by default.
