      Hello Guys,

I have connected Pfsense firewall after router and before switch.
Internet is going down atleast once in a day. Then i had to remove the firewall and after that, Internet works fine.
Could anyone help how to find what caused the issue. How can we trace this via logs ?

      Thanks and Regards,
      Karthik

What do you see in the pfSense System Log when it goes down? Look in Status > System Logs > System > General tab.

My Internet stopped working at 2pm
The last log which was generated before network issue was at 1.14pm
          Following are logs generated:
          exiting on signal 15
          Now monitoring attacks

Post Internet issue I had removed Firewall from network at 2 pm and then reconnected Firewall at 3.35pm.

Please find the attached logs below for your reference,

Ok so nothing logged at all. Then you rebooted it at 15.35?

So the firewall remains responsive? You are able to log into it?

What hardware are you using? What NICs?

            Steve

Ok then you need to see exactly what fails when it stops passing traffic to the internet.

There are no gateway alarms so I assume pfSense can still ping the gateway at that point.

Can pfSense ping anything else? By URL as well as IP?

What exactly do you see 'go down'?

At that time, I didnt see if gateway and other urls pinging or not. The entire network went down so just removed the firewall from network.

You mean you also couldn't connect to internal resources?
