No Turbo boost
-
I have a Supermicro X9SPV-M4 that has an I7-3555LE, with pfsense version 2.3.3-release-p1 and it will not turbo boost. It is enabled in the bios and have tried with PowerD enabled and disabled. The dashboard report max as 2501MHZ, the cpu should boost to 3200MHZ. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this not supported?

Usually that last bit indicates turbo mode. So 2501 vs 2500. The CPU doesn't actually have a 1MHz step.

Perhaps if PowerD is enabled it might be showing up other numbers if that box will be driven by hard work and you will
see then other numbers. -
Power D is Hiadaptive.
I send this command "sysctl -a | grep cpu.0.freq"
and the reply is "dev.cpu.0.freq_levels: 2501/25000 2500/25000 2400/23727 2300/22478 2100/20053 2000/18876 1900/17726 1800/16595 1600/14403 1500/13341 1400/12304 1300/11287 1200/10291 1000/8366 900/7436 800/6529
dev.cpu.0.freq: 2501Is this setting a max of 2501 to the cpu?

Yes, that's the maximum freq the cpu allows the OS to set but that last bit means 'use turbo mode' where it goes as fast as current thermal and power conditions will allow.
That's what I expect to see there.Steve

I wouldn't expect the dashboard to dynamically report the current CPU frequency. I expect that your CPU is working as intended and you're just not seeing the results indicated in the dashboard.
