      Hi team,

Anyone know the possible reason why PfSense WAN Link will abrupt be disconnected ?

      Current Fix:

      1. SSH and Manually reboot pfsense

      Current Setup:

      1. PfSense hosted on Zimaboard
      2. WAN IP taken via DHCP from ISP

      Error Message:
      From system.logs

      kernel: re0: watchdog timeout
kernel: re0: link state changed to DOWN
      check_reload_status[413]: Linkup starting re0
      php-fpm[19243]: /rc.linkup: Hotplug event detected for WAN(wan) dynamic IP address (4: dhcp, 6: dhcp6)
      php-fpm[81497]: /rc.linkup: Linkup detected on disabled interface...Ignoring
php-fpm[19243]: /rc.linkup: DEVD Ethernet detached event for wan
      php-fpm[7613]: /rc.linkup: Linkup detected on disabled interface...Ignoring
      check_reload_status[413]: Reloading filter
      php-fpm[384]: /rc.linkup: Linkup detected on disabled interface...Ignoring
      check_reload_status[413]: Reloading filter
kernel: re0: link state changed to UP
      check_reload_status[413]: Linkup starting re0
      php-fpm[19243]: /rc.linkup: Linkup detected on disabled interface...Ignoring
      check_reload_status[413]: Reloading filter
      kernel: re0: watchdog timeout
kernel: re0: link state changed to DOWN

After that my internet just went down.

      Gateway.logs

WAN_DHCP <Default Gateway IP from ISP Router>: sendto error: 65
      exiting on signal 15

Just a suggestion: take a look if the driver for your NIC is up to date (Realtek I suppose):

          pkg search realtek
realtek-re-kmod-198.00_3 Kernel driver for Realtek PCIe Ethernet Controllers

@fireodo Thanks. I've just updated it using re-kmod
realtek-re-kmod-198.00_3 Kernel driver for Realtek PCIe Ethernet Controllers

will test and monitor if the same issue occur again. the configuration doesn't store as backup right ? means i've to manually update it next time if i switch out the hardware installed with pfsense ?

The loader values to load the module that you added to /boot/loader.conf.local will survive an upgrade.

Because it's an installed package it will be upgraded like any other at upgrade too.

                It shouldn't require anything.

                Steve

Just for reference that is the error that indicates you should be using the alternative re driver.
