      Hey Guys,

I am pretty new to pfsense and recently installed my first firewall. All went pretty good so far until I decided I needed more passthrough.

I bought all the Hardware (list below) and put everything together.

Per default the Switch (Unifi 24 Pro) is configured to run SFP+ 10Gig. All good I thought I got all the Hardware needed for that. But no connection at all.
So I set it to Auto negotiate and it setteled for 1 Gig (1000baseSX <full-duplex,rxpause,txpause>).

So now here I am what could I do?

      Steps taken:

      Restarting all the devices
      Unplug and plug the cables.

      Here is my Setup:

      Pfsense:
      HP G800 Desktop
      Intel i5, 16 GB RAM

      Cable:
      LWL-Patchkabel LC-LC, Multimode, OM3, 1m

      NIC's

      • Intel 540 10Gbit Copper (WAN)
        -. Intel 520 SFP+ (All the VLANs)

      Switch
      Unifi 24 Pro

It can require setting 10G specifically to get the link up. What is the switch port set to?

          Hey Thanks for the reply.

Currently its on auto-negotiate. So I get 1Gbit.

When I force it to 10gbit on the Switch side I get no connect at all.

Even with both the switch and pfSense ports set to 10G?

              Hey Guys,

              I figured it out.

The problem was the Intel SFP+ Module (Intel Corp PN: FTLX8571D3BCVIT1).

It works with the Ubiquiti SFP+ Module (UACC-OM-MM-10G-D-2).

And for the fun I tried a DAC from Cisco (CISCO-TYCO PN: 1-2053783-1) and it also works with 10Gbit.

Hope somebody someday finds this helpfull.

              Thanks for the Help.

@stephenw10 When I try to force it into 10Gbit the link goes down with the Intel Module.
