CenturyLink, 6RD, IPv6 and internal routers
-
I have CenturyLink in Portland, OR.
They offer IPv6 via 6rd and I have this set up and it's mostly working.
I set my IPv6 Prefix ID to an 8bit number and then any device connecting to the LAN port gets an IPv6 address out of that /64 (6RD creates a /56, but that Prefix ID then turns that into a /64)My problem is that for internal topology reasons I do have two different routers sit on the LAN and create their own networks (for various guest / DMZ / work purposes). I can't create those networks on the Pfsense, they really need to come from those routers. And this is where the IPv6 part fails. Because the downstream clients of those secondary routers work great with IPv4, but they don't get IPv6 addresses.
I tried a number of different combinations of DHCP6, relays, whatever, but in the end none seem to work.
For IPv6 on the LAN port to work I have the IPv6 configuration in Pfsense set to "Track Interface" - DHCP6 is off - RA is in Unmanaged mode
Hopefully this is enough information in order to get help - I'm happy to provide any other data that might be needed.
