Strange "warning" in dmesg
-
Hello,
i have a lab machine with a Q7XXG4P03 (Qotom i guess) motherboard, Intel Celeron J3455 processor 4GB RAM 4 Intel NICs (I211) and a 32GB Transcend SSD.
Recently i saw that in the dmesg there is a warning:WARNING: L1 data cache covers fewer APIC IDs than a core (0 < 1)
I searched in the net but I did not find any clarification/explanation what that "warning" wants to tell me.
Despite of that warning the machine works flawless with pfsense CE 2.7.2If someone can shed some enlightenment he/she is very welcome!
Thanks, happy New Year and all the best,
fireodo -

Probably a bad APIC table. Update the BIOS if you can.

https://forum.netgate.com/topic/124642/apic-warning-l1-data-cache-less-thanThanks a lot, Steve! As I found out (in the mean time) there is no newer Bios for that mobo ... I have to live with it until a newer Bios gets released.
BTW. If someone search for Qotom Bioses:

You can probably disable it but I doubt it's hurting anything. Disabling might cause more problems!

I agree - disabling apic is not so good ;-)

BTW. If someone search for Qotom Bioses:
Mail them directly, often they offer to clients new bioses that are not
shown in their "mainstream" offer. -
