2.7.0 to 2.7.2 with a tiny twist...
-
I attempted to upgrade from 2.6 to 2.7, which went seemingly fine. Then I saw that 2.7.2 was out, so I hit the update button to do it. After reboot, the GUI failed with PHP errors about libcrypto.so.30 not found for php, GUI won't start, so tried the command line, and many commands are giving errors, all related to libcrypto and libssl not found (at least the versions the binaries are linked against).
had issues, tried googling around, tried certrehash, and pkg-static commands, nothing working.
getting:
[2.7.0-RELEASE][admin@xxx]/usr/lib: pfSense-repoc-static
ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libcrypto.so.30" not found, required by "php"
pfSense-repoc-static: cannot read pfSense pkg prefix
failed to collect the system information.(not sure why it says 2.7.0, there were no errors in the upgrade process, that showed in the GUI).
Anyway, I had just installed 2.7.0 on a different machine a few weeks ago, it has no addons, I thought I'd poke around over there for a second.Lo and behold, even on the fresh install, I'm getting:
[2.7.0-RELEASE][admin@yyy]/lib: pkg
ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libssl.so.30" not found, required by "pkg"So at least I'm seeing issues even with a clean install, although the GUI seems to be working just fine, and the router is running and doing it's thing.
Any help appreciated, I've tried all the certrehash, and pkg-static upgrade-f's I can think of. The "cannot read pkg prefix" is a headscratcher. I can't get in to the GUI to reset back to 2.7.0, so not sure how to do that from the command line. Going to google some more, but any tips appreciated.

@mrcpu That can happen if you install packages from the later version before upgrading. Try uninstalling packages then upgrading. Or reinstall new and restore.

@SteveITS I'll try, but I didn't install anything in between at least by choice. Clicked upgrade to 2.7.0, clicked upgrade to 2.7.2, boom, no workee.

@SteveITS Thanks for the tips. In the end, just restoring the pre-upgrade backup was the solution, the other things may have worked, but I needed to get fired back up and running so people could get back to work.
