          2.7.2 could be more complete.

Did they say that it was in the 2.7.2 release notes? ;)

Either here or Reddit. I just feel I keep typing or reading the same thing. Even with release notes that explains what specifically is missing…I don’t get it.

I had read the release notes for 2.7.1, but I thought that 2.7.2 could be more complete.

I'll wait for the next releases.

              Thanks for your help!!!

              I don’t understand this explanation. I legitimately don’t

haha - I am with you.. I don't get it either.. There was a blog post clearly going over that its missing xyz, and then the release notes with a big warning box saying hey this stuff is missing..

They should of prob maybe put the warning about - read the release notes or something in the warning about isc being deprecated, READ RELEASE NOTES BEFORE YOU SWITCH.. Maybe they could of made it blinking red font? And then if you switch setup a confirmation box saying - you sure you want to switch XYX is missing in this "preview" release of kea.. Your stuff might not work!! Please make sure you have read and fully understand the release notes.. Click here and solve this captcha that you have read and understand that isc dhcp is not going away any time soon, and still works and there are no known security issues with it at this time. Switching to kea at this time will most likely cause problems

                edit:
Maybe they could not thrown the warning at all, and just put in that there is a preview of kea, if you want to try it out - its missing xyz in the release notes.. Go here, click the hidden button (you will have to search for it) its only 2x2 pixels in the very top right hand corner.. You will then need to put in the password "cmr%zWH!U4nVH7" then solve the captcha. hehehe

hindsight is always 20/20 - maybe they thought hey the people that don't read release notes, are not going to be doing anything fancy - just handing out IPs ;) which kea does do.. But again in hindsight, maybe they should of not warned anyone as of yet, and could of just waited til it is fully integrated with all features that are currently in isc.

I legitimately made a sincere inquiry. However, I will edit my response to avoid affecting more sensitive individuals.

@michmoor Tbf the 2.7.2 release notes could say it’s still a preview/alpha and point to the 2.7.1 release notes.

@michmoor hahaa - yeah my sense of humor leans towards sarcasm, facetiousness, gallows, black, etc.. It doesn't always go over well, and sometimes comes off wrong... Its a personal flaw that I am willing to live with.. ;)

edit: and it comes off better in person where you can see my face and tone of my voice. But once you pick up on my humor in text form.. Quite often it is very funny, at least to me - hahaha ;)

But it has gotten me into trouble now and then as well. When people don't get it.. But it is a struggle I live with, some people might have to deal with say a gluten allergy.. I struggle with being a smart ass ;) hehehe

FWIW I did put in doc feedback. The answer was, the "new features" section of the release notes is for "new" features and Kea is not "new" in 2.7.2.
